Biography

Dale Franks grew up in several small towns in New Mexico. His parents were pastors who served churches in Artesia, Hatch and Las Cruces, NM, during the years when Dale was in elementary, middle school and high school. Dale learned to play the guitar at the age of 13, and began to play regularly for church services where his parents served as ministers.

Upon graduation from high school, he continued his scholastic pursuits at Southwestern Assemblies of God University where he was active in several musical groups, a traveling male chorus, the Men of Southwestern, and concert choir, the Harvesters Choir. During his college career, he also served as a studio musician on several recording projects playing both guitar and electric bass.

Dale was ordained as a minister in 1966. He pursued full time ministry and served as a pastor, associate pastor, minister of music, worship leader and musician. As an evangelist, he conducted over 250 evangelistic crusades in the United States, Canada and Mexico. He also served three years as Director of Campus Ministries for the state of New Mexico for a major church denomination.

His musical abilities eventually placed Dale in a recording studio where he worked as a studio musician playing both bass and guitar. He produced music projects for gospel artists, providing the engineering and production of their projects.

Current ministry consists of providing fill-in services for pastors who need to be away from their duties for a weekend or several weeks. During these services, Dale ministers in the word and in instrumental and vocal music. Dale plays piano, keyboard, guitar and electric bass.  For more information regarding Dale’s ministry activities including his ministry schedule, please see his ministry web site at https://www.edfsr.org.
